Absolutely amazing!!
Sean was very supportive and very knowledgeable. I was enrolled in Technical Statistics. After a few sessions with Sean, I became very confident approaching each equation. Sean teaching techniques were very straight forward, interactive, and visual which made it easy to follow along and made the learning experience great!
I ended my course with a 86%

My experience in your class was great and super fun. The way you were able to break everything down made me understand statistics without the stress. The class I feared the most was pleasant, and I learned how to back up my theory with numbers. Thank you for helping me understand how data works and how to prove my theory with realistic numbers. I've been teaching ESL for over 10 years now and I needed help re-learning high school maths for my PRAXIS CORE 5733 because I apparently didn't really LEARN maths. There were so many concepts that were vaguely familiar but nothing I felt I actually learned while in school. Sessions with Sean made all those concepts make sense, and I thought, "why weren't we taught this way in school?"
Sean helped me pass the exam with higher than average scores required for the DC standard teaching license. Maths started making so much sense that I even considered re-visiting maths from the ground up so that I could add it as an endorsement to my license to teach, but starting at the primary level 🙂 I definitely recommend "AHA Math Connect" and would gladly have future sessions when the time comes to add that endorsement!

Tutoring with Sean was a great experience. He is patient and really enjoys what he does especially when it came to math. He’s very knowledgeable and great at making difficult problems seem easy. He did not only help me with math but coached me throughout our session in order to boost my confidence. I cant wait to get started back next semester when I enter calculus one. I know he’ll start me with a refresher and be patient with me through it all. I wouldn’t have accomplished my success with pre calculus without his help. Sean, thank you with your help. I made the deans list and boosted my confidence and feel ready for more math.

I've seen my daughter's grasp of math concepts increase dramatically since she has been working with Sean over the past 9months. I am particularly impressed about her improvement with word problems.
She is currently in 6th advanced math and will be doing 7th grade STAAR math test. I have no concerns she will do well.
I recommend Sean with AHA! Math Connect to any student at any level of math.

Aha! Math Tutor Sean Gillings has been working with our son for more than a year. Our son has a disability that prevents him from learning at the same pace as his peers, however; since Sean started tutoring our son we have seen a huge difference. We tried other tutoring companies but that one on one attention was missing. Sean is able to give our son the attention he needs and breaks down the problem in such a simplified way that our son understands. His one size does not fits all approach is the reason he is so successful with his students. Sean makes math fun and interesting and although our son dislikes to do school work, he is ready and waiting with his home work completed every Sunday afternoon for his zoom session with Sean. As parents, we want our children to be the best they can be so if your child is struggling in math you will not find a tutor that is more attentive, punctual, intelligent, patient and knows how to bring a cross a subject matter to any child in a way that they not only understand but will retain as great as Sean.

I am very happy with the tutoring Judea is receiving from Sean for the past 3 months. Judea has acquired immense success with her understanding of math concepts mainly due to her tutoring sessions with Sean. He demonstrates active listening, patience, reliability, consistency, and respectful guidance when interacting with Judea. He builds strong, positive relationship with her and demonstrates passion and enthusiasm for tutoring and her future. Sean hasn’t only helped her to achieve the change in math but also gave her confidence, support and praised her efforts for trying even when she doesn't get it. Sean’s outlook for Judea is "The sky is the limit.” Judea is always excited about her next tutoring session and we are so grateful to have Sean as her tutor.
Please note: On more than one occasion, Judea's school sends practice worksheets for tests which are sometimes emailed to Sean at the last minute, but he responds with tact when asked to change curriculum or teaching style to suit her needs – especially when the change may not be best practice. Sean has always gone above and beyond the call to make sure Judea was confident, prepared and ready for her test the following day.

I engaged Mr. Gillings to help me with the tutoring of my nephew, who came to live with me in his junior and senior years of high school. He had plans to go to college, but at the time math was giving him a hard time. I reached out to Mr. Gillings and asked if he would tutor my nephew in math. Thankfully Mr. Gillings agreed and began tutoring him weekly for over a year. Mr. Gillings was patient, understanding, competent and thorough. He was able to walk my nephew through all his blocks with math. He helped my nephew prep for the ACT exam and ultimately do very well. Not only did my nephew do well in his junior and senior years in high school, he also got his college undergrad degree and went on to get his masters. My nephew had to work hard, BUT he also had a great amount of help and support through Mr. Gillings. For that I am forever grateful. When I asked my nephew about his experience working with Mr. Gillings, he said he was nice, easy to talk to, and very easy to work with!
Thank you Mr. Gillings for ALL of your help. If you have a child that needs tutoring, I would HIGHLY recommend Mr. Gillings. He takes the success of his students very seriously!
